Peer tutors are available for academic and general writing assistance. You and your writing tutor can brainstorm, organize, and review an essay for class, a personal statement for a scholarship, or a cover letter for a job. Together, we can help you become a better writer.
PLUS follows the Supplemental Instruction (SI) model that uses peer learning to improve student's grade in a Quantitative Reasoning course. It consists of regularly scheduled; out-of-class group study sessions driven by students’ needs. Sessions are facilitated by trained individuals who have successfully passed the course in which they utilize collaborative activities to ensure peer-to-peer interaction in small groups.
The Peer Leader program at California State University, Los Angeles, in partnership with Peer Forward, a national student success organization, connects selected incoming first-year students with students who have successfully navigated the college experience. Our Peer Leaders engage with an incoming cohort to ensure their students find belonging at Cal State LA and understand how to enjoy their first year at university. Building on academic research and best practices, Peer Leaders follow a S.O.A.R curriculum specifically designed to engage and welcome students starting out on this important educational journey
