It is imperative that our students understand business law in an international context, particularly now in the context of COVID-19. This course is designed to be an introduction to international business law, concentrating on legal perspectives concerning both international and economic relations, with particular emphasis on the increasing importance of China to the global economy.
The course introduces the key concepts and principles of international strategy formation and analysis, and provides tools that future business managers will need to compete in the 21st century.
Significant emphasis will be placed on the legal framework of international business, as well as on relevant U.S. law, treaties, and host country laws. Ethical frameworks for international business; legal frameworks for international business; international contract negotiations; GATT, EU, NAFTA, and U.S. import/export laws, including the protection of intellectual property will also be covered.
